Skylux windows-domes provide a building with up to 30% more light than lighting from vertical surfaces such as windows. At the same time, they offer a solution to many architectural quests as they allow lighting and ventilation of spaces where opening windows are prohibited, or offer exit to the roof as occasional or emergency use roof access hatches, eliminating the need for stairwells.

Combined with heat and smoke detection systems (SHEV), they act as natural smoke exhaust vents to protect people and buildings.
